117 MILLION FOR UKRAINE’S ARMED FORCES: UWC LEADERSHIP MEETS WITH GENERAL TANTSYURA

Russians prepare false flag "assault" on ZNPP – Defence Intelligence

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has reported that in the near future, the Russians are planning to organise another provocation at the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) with the use of heavy weapons.

Quote: "The occupiers are likely to organise another armed provocation on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in the near future.

To this end, the FSB's ‘military counterintelligence department’ is spreading information among the occupation contingent about the alleged preparation of an assault on the ZNPP by the Ukrainian defence forces."

Details: The Russian secret service has claimed that an "assault" on the nuclear power plant will be organised late in July; "assault groups" and unnamed "volunteer armed units of Ukraine" are allegedly supposed to take part.

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine believes that spreading such information may indicate that the Russian occupiers are preparing a false flag operation that will lead to a large-scale accident at the ZNPP.

According to the available information, other simulated attacks on the plant are currently being prepared with the aim of further accusing Ukraine of it.

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has called such actions an "act of nuclear terrorism".

Ukraine has repeatedly stated that nothing but the return of the ZNPP to full control of Ukraine and the IAEA, as well as the creation of a wide demilitarised zone around the plant, is able to guarantee the safe operation of a nuclear power plant.

Background:

  • ZNPP was seized by Russian occupation forces on 4 March 2022. Since then, there have been repeated reports of mines on the territory of the plant, several power units and the cooling pond.
  • The chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine said that in the event of a terrorist attack perpetrated by Russians at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), people will have to be evacuated from the zone with a radius of 50 kilometres around the station.

Paul Grod, the President of the Ukrainian World Congress, and Andrew Potichnyj, Director of the Unite With Ukraine initiative, met with General Ihor Tansyura, the Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces.

During the meeting, the delegation announced another assistance package for the Territorial Defense Forces needs worth UAH 117 million (over USD 3 million). These include, in particular, armored vehicles for the evacuation and safe movement of personnel in the combat zone, FPV drones, the latest Strata 22 weapon simulators for training fighters, as well as the repair and restoration of four-wheel drive GAZ-66 trucks.

“Today, the UWC, within the Unite with Ukraine initiative, has the great honor to announce the provision of another package of military aid for the strengthening of the Armed Forces’ Territorial Defense in the amount of UAH 117 million,” Paul Grod said.

The aid continues the Unite With Ukraine initiative to purchase the UK Spartan armored vehicles.

“Worldwide Ukrainians stand side by side with the defenders of Ukraine not only

with words but also with actions. Our cooperation with Major General Ihor Tansyura and his team is one of the most important areas of activity of the UWC and remains a priority. Funds collected from 65+ countries clearly indicate that the diaspora does not succumb to Russian propaganda and is ready to continue supporting the defenders of Ukraine,” Paul Grod added.

The Ukrainian World Congress has been a reliable and stable partner of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion. Their extraordinary support and cooperation was and remains an essential component of the success of our forces on the battlefield, Major General Ihor Tansyura said.

“This aid package is another example of the high level of our joint work with the UWC,” the Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added.

The meeting took place within the framework of the UWC delegation’s visit to Ukraine. The day before, the leaders of the UWC met with Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Oleksii Reznikov, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, and others.
