Lublin Voivodeship, Poland. What should have been a quiet September night turned into another reminder of Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine and the danger it poses to all of Europe. A Russian drone, or its fragments, struck a single-family home, damaging its roof and a nearby car. Locals reported hearing an explosion and seeing Polish fighter jets in the sky. Fortunately, no one was injured. But the incident underscores a larger truth: as long as Russia wages war and Ukraine’s skies remain unprotected, no European country can feel fully safe. Each attack that crosses into NATO territory is a flashpoint of the urgency to bolster Ukraine’s air defenses and hold Russia accountable for its aggression.
