The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) deeply mourns the tragic loss of Andriy Parubiy and strongly condemns his senseless murder. His death is a painful blow to Ukraine’s democratic movement and a tragic moment for the entire global Ukrainian community.
Andriy Parubiy was a tireless defender of Ukraine’s sovereignty, a champion of parliamentary democracy, and a visionary leader committed to Ukraine’s European future. His role during the Revolution of Dignity and his service as Chair of the Verkhovna Rada stood as an example of unwavering dedication to freedom, justice, and national dignity.
Andriy Parubiy was a friend of the global Ukrainian community, who deeply understood the historic importance of Ukrainian unity.
As Ukraine continues its struggle against aggression and for the renewal of democracy, the UWC calls on the Ukrainian authorities to conduct a full and transparent investigation into the murder of Andriy Parubiy. Such violence must not be tolerated, and accountability is essential to preserving public trust and democratic integrity.
UWC President Paul Grod stated: “Andriy Parubiy embodied the spirit of Ukrainian resilience and the pursuit of democracy. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who fight for freedom and justice. We express our solidarity with his family and with all who are mourning this devastating loss.”
