White House feud: Zelensky, Trump and Vance escalated
Washington, USA – During a conversation in the Oval Office, Volodymyr Zelensky said that diplomacy towards Russia is not working, to which the American vice president accused him of disrespect. The conversation went beyond the protocol, the interlocutors escalated. Donald Trump intervened in the dispute.
When it came to the Russian-Ukrainian war, J.D. Vance said that Trump’s diplomacy needs a chance to settle the situation. To which Volodymyr Zelensky said that since 2014 no one has been able to stop Putin because he does not adhere to any agreements.
“I signed an agreement with him in 2019… But after that he violated the ceasefire. He did not go to the prisoner exchange. What diplomacy are you talking about, J.D.?” Zelensky asked emotionally.
“I’m talking about diplomacy that will end the destruction of your country,” Vance replied, saying that coming to the Oval Office and arguing in front of the American media is disrespectful. According to him, Zelensky should thank Trump for trying to end the war. He also said that there are problems in Ukraine, in particular with people in the army.
Zelensky replied that everyone has problems during a war. “Even you, but you have a beautiful ocean. So you don’t feel it now (the consequences of the war. — Ed.), but you will feel it in the future.”
Trump intervened in the conversation, interrupting Zelensky, saying: “No, no, no. Don’t tell us what we’re going to feel. We’re trying to solve the problem. Don’t tell us what we should feel…. You don’t have the right to dictate, remember that,” Trump said.
He told Zelensky that he was not in a good position right now and that he had no trump cards, but he would get them from the United States.
“I’m not playing cards, I’m serious, President. I’m the president (of the country. — Ed.) at war,” Volodymyr Zelensky replied. Trump interrupted him and accused him of playing with World War III, and that this was disrespectful.
J.D. Vance joined the conversation again: “You went to Pennsylvania and campaigned for the opposition in October, say a few words of gratitude to the United States of America and the president who is trying to save your country!”
Zelensky said that he was grateful, and was about to tell Vance that he was talking too loudly, when Donald Trump interrupted him. “He’s not talking loudly. Your country has big problems…” He again spoke about the $350 billion allocated to Ukraine, equipment, and stated that the war would have ended in two weeks if it weren’t for US support.
“In three days? I heard it from Putin — in three days,” Zelensky cut off.
