This is how all terrorists operate, forcing them to carry out their evil will through intimidation. The civilized world has long concluded that appeasement of terrorists leads not to a peaceful solution to problems, but to the expansion of terror.
Therefore, if someone in the Russian state truly wants peace, as they claim, then the world community should believe only in deeds, not in declarations, which are immediately contradicted by criminal shelling of peaceful cities. Only Russian consent to a complete and unconditional ceasefire, as proposed by Ukraine, can in fact confirm the movement towards a real cessation of war.
